School Health Requirements 2020-2021

Examination and immunization requirements and deadlines still apply

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many challenges to routine medical care. Medical providers are urging parents to make appointments and resume necessary immunizations. The Illinois School Board of Education released an update for the School Health Requirements for 2020-2021.

Students continuing to participate in remote learning and are required to meet the State of Illinois health requirements for their grade-level, and have not done so, the Illinois School Board of Education has issued the following:

    • If a family has not ensured a child’s timely compliance with health examination or immunization requirements, the child may be provided e-learning or remote instruction, provided instruction is solely by remote means and he/she does not have a physical presence on school grounds (either before, during or after school).

Students who are participating in hybrid learning will adhere to the current health requirements as per 105 ILCS/5/27-8.1, and all students enrolled in hybrid learning will need to show proof of appropriate grade-level requirements.

    • Your child will be excluded from any in person learning on October 22 or 23, 2020 until the Certificate of Child’s Health Examination form has been completed and turned in, or if you provide a signed notice from your child’s physician of the scheduled appointment date.

  • More information is available on the Health Services web pages.
