Mr. Kurt Kramer
On behalf of the Willow Creek staff I would like to welcome you to the 2020-21 school year! By now most of you have heard from District 68 about the board meeting that took place on Monday, July 20th regarding reopening Woodridge schools. At this meeting the Board of Education voted to open school with a “Remote Learning” plan (Monday - Friday). While I am disappointed that we will not be able to open the building back up for our students right now, I am hopeful that we will be able to do so soon. Please continue to stay tuned for details and updates on our re-opening plan.
Even though we are starting remotely, we are still committed to our Academic Transformation Plan and our district F.O.C.U.S. which means that we:
F - Form strong caring relationships with and between students
O - Operate with high expectations and clear targets in place
C - Create engagement through meaningful experiences
U - Utilize data strategically to inform instructional planning
S - Supply specific and timely feedback to ensure each child achieves his/her personal best
Additionally here at Willow Creek we take a lot of pride in our school. Our students are asked to follow four guidelines - 1. We are safe. 2. We try our best. 3. We are kind. 4. We show respect.
Our parents are also proudly involved in the Willow Creek PTO. Our PTO provides us with numerous givebacks including assemblies, dances, class parties, and other fun school events. To stay up to date on the latest PTO news, please register for our PTO Newsletter at Groupvine by clicking on the following link (https://www.groupvine.com/willow-creek-elementary/@@registration) and contact wc_PTO@yahoo.com for more info.
Let’s make this an engaging, hard-working, and valuable school year!
